Where to buy an Antminer in Dubai
Most buyers in the UAE use one of three routes. Each one gives you a different level of protection.
- Bitmain's official shop. The manufacturer sells online through its official store and handles orders, shipping and after-sales support itself.
- Resellers. These are trading companies that buy in volume and resell locally. Many are reliable, but you have to check each one yourself.
- Private and second-hand sellers. These are miners leaving the market, farms upgrading their fleet, or people selling one unit. Used machines usually come from here.
Whichever route you take, the steps below are the same: pick the right model, inspect the unit, check the seller, then decide where the machine will run.
How to compare current Antminer models
The number that matters most is efficiency: how many joules of electricity the miner uses for each terahash of work, written J/TH. You get it by dividing the power draw in watts by the hashrate in TH/s. Lower is better. The Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance uses this same hardware efficiency measure when it models the network's power use (CCAF). Take both values from the manufacturer's spec sheet, not from a seller's advert.
Next, check the cooling type. Air-cooled Antminers have fans and run in standard racks. Hydro models such as the S21 XP Hyd or S23hyd need a water loop, so they only run in a site built for them. Our guide to hydro, air and immersion cooling explains the trade-offs.

New versus used units
A new unit comes sealed, with clean history and current firmware, and any manufacturer cover starts from your purchase. A used unit costs less up front, but its condition depends on how it was run: heat, dust and humidity all wear hashboards and fans.
Used machines are worth considering when the seller can show you the unit running and has records to back up its history. For a deeper checklist, read buying a used ASIC miner.
What to inspect before you pay
Ask to see the miner hashing, ideally for several hours. A quick power-on proves little. Then check the following:
- Hashboards: every board should be detected and hashing, the chip count should match the model, and temperatures should be similar across boards.
- Fans: all fans should spin up cleanly, with no grinding or wobble. On air-cooled units, missing or mismatched fans are a warning sign.
- Test logs: ask for the kernel log and the per-board hashrate over time. Watch for repeated restarts, chip errors or a board that drops out.
- Serial numbers: the labels on the case, PSU and boards should match the invoice and the control board's records.
- Physical condition: look for corrosion, heavy dust, burnt smells, missing screws or signs that boards have been opened and reworked.
- Firmware: find out whether it runs stock firmware or a third-party build, and whether that matters for any remaining support.
If a board shows errors, it may still be repairable. Our page on common Antminer faults explains what the usual log messages mean.
Warranty and seller checks
Before you send money, find out who you are dealing with and what support, if any, comes with the unit.
- Ask for the seller's trade licence and a proper invoice that lists each serial number.
- Ask in writing what manufacturer warranty remains, who honours it, and whether it passes to you as the new owner. Terms depend on the sales channel and the purchase date.
- Keep the original proof of purchase, because support claims usually need it.
- Avoid paying the full amount up front to a seller you cannot verify. Agree a payment schedule tied to inspection, or use a trusted intermediary.
- Agree who is responsible for the unit during shipping, and get that agreement in writing.
Segments does not sell warranties on third-party hardware. Any warranty is between you, the seller and the manufacturer.
Delivering the miner straight into a UAE hosting centre
An Antminer is loud, hot and power-hungry. Hydro models also need a water loop, so most buyers do not run them at home. Instead, you can ask the seller to ship the unit straight to a hosting centre. That avoids carrying heavy equipment twice and means the unit is checked where it will actually run.
Segments runs hosting centres in the UAE, including F20 and F54, which are open now. Before shipping, message us with the model and cooling type. We can confirm which centre suits the unit, how receiving and racking work, and what the Saver plan covers. Uptime is something we target and report on, not a promise. Our guide to choosing mining hosting lists the questions worth asking any host.

Questions
- Can I buy an Antminer directly from Bitmain while living in the UAE?
- Yes. Bitmain sells through its official online shop and ships internationally. Check the order terms, shipping responsibility and any import paperwork before you pay. You can usually give a hosting centre as the delivery address if you agree it with the host first.
- Is a used Antminer a sensible buy?
- It can be, as long as you see the unit hashing, review its logs and hashboard health, and buy from a seller you can verify. Price alone tells you little. The unit's history and condition matter more.
- Can I run a hydro Antminer at home in Dubai?
- Hydro models need a water cooling loop and heat rejection equipment that homes and offices rarely have. Most buyers host them in a site built for hydro cooling.
- Will Segments inspect a miner that is shipped to a hosting centre?
- Message us before shipping. We will explain how units are received and checked at the centre, and what happens if a problem shows up when the unit is powered on.
