SegPool Solo · Bitcoin
Your miner, a shot at a whole block.
Point any SHA-256 miner at SegPool Solo with your own bitcoin address, from a Bitaxe on your desk to a rack of S21s. If it finds a block, the block itself pays that address, less our 1% fee. No account, no balance, no withdrawal. Most small miners never find a block, so check your odds first.

Your odds
Pick your machine and see your chance
Your chance comes from your hashrate against the whole network's, at today's difficulty. Mining solo doesn't change what a machine earns on average. It changes how it is paid: one whole block, or nothing.
SegPool
Steady income
Small payouts that follow your hashrate. For every machine that earns more than its power costs.
SegPool Solo
All or nothing
Nothing most days, a whole block on the day you hit. For hobby miners, retired machines and hashrate you would otherwise switch off.
Rule of thumb: if a machine pays its power bill on a steady pool, keep it there. If it doesn't, or it is too small to notice, solo gives it a chance at a block.
- Chance of a block in a year
- 1 in 16,000
- 0.0063% a year for 1.20 TH/s, at today's difficulty.
- Average wait for one block
- 15,955 years
- An average over very many tries. A block can come on the first day, or never.
- If it finds a block
- ≈ 3.114 BTC
- ≈ $248,751
- Average value
- $0.04 a day
- Power costs about $0.03 a day at your price.
This machine earns more than its power costs on a steady pool. For income, keep it on SegPool. Send it solo only if you want the shot.

Three settings, nothing to sign up for
Open your miner's settings page and enter these three. Your bitcoin address is your username: a block pays that address, and you look up your miner by it below.

- Bitaxe and other small miners: the pool starts each miner at a low share difficulty and adjusts it within minutes. There is nothing to set.
- Add a second pool as a backup in your miner, so it keeps working if ours is ever unreachable.
- Rented hashrate (NiceHash, Braiins or our own orders): use solo.segpool.com port 4334, which starts at a high share difficulty.

The plain facts of mining solo
Most small miners never find a block
A Bitaxe-size miner can run for longer than a lifetime without finding one, and most never will. Mine solo for the chance, not for income.
1% of a block, nothing else
The pool keeps 1% of a block it finds, written into the same block. There is no other fee, and nothing is charged until you find one.
We never hold the reward
The block pays your address directly. There are no balances, thresholds or withdrawals, so there is nothing of yours for us to hold.
On average, the same as any pool
Over a very long run, solo and a steady pool pay about the same per terahash. Solo pays it in rare, whole blocks.
Questions
Before you connect
Is this gambling?
No money is staked or pooled, and no one pays for anyone else's win. Your machine does real work for the Bitcoin network, and the network pays whoever finds a block. Mining solo only means you keep a whole block instead of sharing it, which makes payouts rare.
Do I need an account?
No. Your bitcoin address is your username. As on every solo pool, anyone can look up an address's figures, so use an address that isn't linked to your name if that matters to you.
Does it work with a Bitaxe or NerdQAxe?
Yes. Use port 3333; the pool sets each machine's share difficulty by itself. The same port works for full-size Antminers.
Can my machines hosted at Segments mine solo?
Yes. Ask your account manager and we point them at SegPool Solo. Hosting is charged as usual, so a machine mining solo still pays its power while it waits for a block.
What happens when I find a block?
The block pays your address directly, less the 1% fee. Like all newly mined bitcoin, it can be spent after 100 more blocks, about 17 hours later. The block also appears in the pool's list on this page.
Can I point rented hashrate here?
Yes. Use port 4334, which starts at a high share difficulty. Or rent hashrate from us by the day on the solo page and we connect it for you.
No miner of your own? Rent hashrate for a solo shot
Segments Cloud Hash FZ-LLC, a licensed UAE company. SegPool Solo is run by Segments. It keeps 1% of a block it finds and pays the rest to the miner's address inside the block; blocks it finds carry the tag /SegPool Solo/. Solo mining pays only when a block is found, which most miners never do. Odds use today's network difficulty, which changes about every two weeks. Nothing here is a promise of income.
